LIMITED REPLACEMENT CROP — EXPECTED TO SELL OUT BY SEPTEMBER 14
After losing our own Shinseiki crop this season, Brenda and Paul personally traveled to an East Coast, cold-climate orchard with growing conditions similar to Weymouth Farms and were able to secure a limited quantity of freshly harvested Shinseiki Asian pears.
These pears were picked Sunday, September 6, making them exceptionally fresh. This is not fruit shipped across the country from the West Coast or imported from overseas—it is a carefully sourced replacement crop that Brenda and Paul personally went to the orchard to obtain.
Shinseiki is a Japanese Asian pear with firm, crisp, exceptionally juicy white flesh and a pleasantly sweet flavor. The Japanese name Shinseiki means “New Century.” It is excellent eaten fresh out of hand or sliced into salads.
The fruit has thin yellow-green to pale-yellow skin and may show some natural russeting. The skin and russeted areas are completely edible.
Fresh, crisp and juicy. With proper refrigeration, these pears should keep for at least two months.
Quantities are limited, and we expect this replacement crop to be sold out by September 14.
